Our Picnic Roast comes from the lower part of the pig’s front shoulder, just below the Boston Butt. This bone-in roast is slightly more textured than the upper shoulder, but every bit as flavorful—and perfect for slow roasting, smoking, braising, or pulled pork.

With a generous fat cap and marbling throughout, the picnic roast stays moist and tender through long, slow cooking. It’s an excellent choice for feeding a crowd or prepping multiple meals with one beautiful cut. Some customers prefer the picnic roast over the butt for its slightly richer, more robust flavor.

Like all our pork, this cut comes from pigs raised on open pasture, allowed to roam, root, and forage naturally. They're fed a clean GMO-free, soy-free grain and never given antibiotics or hormones. It’s pork you can feel good about—from soil to plate.
