Dutch Baby (German Pancake)

If you would have asked me a few years ago what a Dutch Baby was, I would have told you some kind of baking dish. But, it is not and is in fact something far more delicious - the German Pancake.
This is a go to around the kitchen in the mornings (I've even pulled it off at supper) for many reasons... EASY, DELICIOUS, and a GREAT way to use some eggs up if they're coming out of your ears which tends to happen from time to time. Alright, grab your butter and let's get started.
- Prep Time:
- Cook Time:
- Servings: 8
Ingredients
- (6) Eggs - Dozen (Corn & Soy Free)
- (1 Cup) Flour
- (1 Cup) Milk
- (Dash) Salt
- (5 TBSP) Butter
- (To liking) Maple Syrup
- (To liking) Confectioners Sugar
- (1 Cup) Blueberries, Bananas, or Strawberries
Directions
- Grab your oven proof skillet (I use a cast iron skillet). Drop your butter in and place in the oven while it preheats to 425 degrees.
- In the meantime, mix the 6 eggs, milk, salt and flour.
- When your butter is melted, remove the pan from the oven and pour your batter in. No need to mix the batter and butter, let it do its thing!
- Place back in the oven and bake 25-30min
- When the edges are brown and your Dutch baby has risen, pull it out and marvel at the beauty!
- This step is optional, but we like to add a bit of confectioners sugar and fruit and then top with maple syrup.
- ENJOY with a big glass of milk (or coffee)
